INCOME PROTECTION INSURANCE
Keep your finances healthy as you recover from illness or injury
WHAT IS IT?
Income Protection Insurance pays you a monthly tax-free income until you’re well enough to go back to work, which you can use to help pay your bills, mortgage or medical costs. Even if you can’t go back to work, you can receive an income for the rest of your policy term.
HOW IT HELPS
When you suffer a serious illness or injury, the last thing you should worry about is how you’ll pay the bills while you’re off work. After all, what if your sick pay should run out while you’re still recovering?

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Why do I need Income Protection Insurance?
It helps to make sure you don’t fall behind with your monthly bills – like your mortgage – if you’re ever off work due to illness, injury or disability.
Can I get Income Protection if I’m self-employed?
Yes you can. And to give you greater financial security, some providers will allow you to choose to start receiving payouts from as early as seven days. For many conditions, you can backdate the payment so you get paid for those seven days, too.
When should I get covered?
You can take out Income Protection Insurance anytime, but most people tend to think about taking out a plan when they’re changing jobs, getting married or starting a family.
How much does Income Protection cost?
Your premium will depend on factors like your age, medical history, your occupation, alcohol consumption and whether you’re a smoker.
